Our Mission

We will strive to provide the best educational opportunities for your child, from the moment he or she walks through our doors, through their graduation from our program. We will prompt them to learn by enhancing their senses, curiosity, and physical mobility, all in the most ideal environment, thereby creating a high level of skill development and independence. We will strive to focus their natural curiosity to learn while respecting their individuality.

As we employ Montessori, Social/Education ideals, we will help students tap into their greatest strengths and lay a solid foundation for all future learning. Our style includes an emphasis on positive reinforcement and welcoming students to an environment that is challenging, yet free of frustration. Each according to their own gifts and all in the name of helping them to fulfill themselves and the world by their realization of the gift that is learning.

Our Tenets

The Pizarro School for Montessori Learning is, in every sense of the word, a "Casa de Bambini", or "Children's House"

Starting with its approach to education, the Pizarro School employs the proven Montessori system, by far the most "child-friendly" method of education ever devised. Embracing the development of the whole child: intellectual, social, physical, emotional and spiritual, through techniques and methods designed with the child (not the adult) in mind, the Montessori way IS the child's way.

With each classroom serving as a self-contained unit, with its own restroom, sink and wash area, the Pizarro School is, actually, host to several "Children's Houses". Here, the children are encouraged to care for their surroundings: keeping things in order, cleaning, organizing, and contributing to the upkeep of their "House". While the empowering freedom of the Montessori system enables them to strive for their full development as unique individuals, our program and its environment also teaches the importance of self-control, responsibility, sharing and good citizenship.

- The Pizarro School for Montessori Learning understands the importance of tradition.

From its unique School uniform to its wood furnishings and appointments, the Pizarro School pays homage and respect to the traditions of the past while enjoying the modern amenities of the present. Good manners, civility, and love of country are encouraged here, not forgotten. The Flag of the United States is respected and the complete Pledge of Allegiance is recited.

- The Pizarro School for Montessori Learning is a believer in the power of family and faith.

Just as every building needs a strong foundation, we believe that each and every person needs a strong foundation too, provided in large part by the warmth and love of family and the guidance and strength of faith. At the Pizarro School, we encourage and support the family in all of its unique blends and treat our children and their parents as part of our greater School family. At the Pizarro School, we encourage and respect the role of faith in our lives and are open to families of all faiths. Although as a School we do not adhere to a particular denomination, we believe in the importance of a relationship with God, and as such, our program encourages each child to develop this special bond.

- The Pizarro School for Montessori Learning understands that each and every child is a gift to the parent, and that each and every parent's sacrifice on their child's behalf is, in return, their gift to the child.

Regardless of one's means, sending a child to private school is no small sacrifice. It requires a special dedication, on the part of the parent, to choose the right school. It also requires a significant financial investment. But parents who choose private schools provide their child with the best opportunity for he or she to rise above and beyond the low standards of the public school system and achieve the solid academic foundations critical to their future success. Parents who choose private schools get an opportunity to provide their child with an optimal learning environment; a setting where each child can feel happy and secure, and where the children of like-minded parents get together in pursuit of the same goals. At the Pizarro School for Montessori Learning, we appreciate the trust our parents have placed in us to meet these needs and as such, work very hard to exceed their expectations in all regards. We understand our unique responsibility and are thankful of the opportunity given to provide this "gift".
